This poster examines the normative grounds for transparency and secrecy in the judiciary. 

It defends a rebuttable presumption in favor of practices that improve public access to information about, or promote public understanding of, the courts. It also explores the circumstances in which, nevertheless, limited forms of opacity or secrecy can be legitimate.
